I just wanted to see "Into The Wild" because the story line between Tracy (Kristen Stewart) and Chris/Alex (Emile Hirsch) seemed heartbreaking and interesting, so I looked into what the movie was about and that seemed like it was worth watching as well. I didn't realize until the end of the movie that it was a true story about Christopher McCandless which was made into a book by Jon Krakauer. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, it shows what was really important to him in his life and he did it no matter the cost, it's about living your dreams the way you want to live them.
I recommend the movie, it's not the highest on my list of recommendations but it would still be there. It's about a young man who doesn't want to be like his parents... he doesn't want money to control his life, so he gives it all up and decides to go live in the wild for awhile traveling all over until reaching his destination of Alaska... he meets a few amazing people along the way played by Brian H. Dierker, Catherine Keener, Vince Vaughn, Kristen Stewart and Hal Holbrook. These are all people that he creates relationships with and that care about him... he is obviously a likable guy and many of them want him to stay with them but he wants to live in the wild. Chris McCandless wrote a journal coving a total of 189 days... the last thing he wrote was on the back of a poem titled "Wise Men in Their Bad Hours" by Robinson Jeffers. He wrote "I HAVE HAD A HAPPY LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL" that is what the movie is based on
Also the acting was amazing in this movie I believe Emile Hirsch is a great actor. And please check out the Christopher McCandless Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_McCandless it's very interesting.
